Today is my birthday!!!!!

Another day older!  I like having a special day. I think birthday's are special.  Each person should be recognized on their birthday. It is the day God choose to put you on Earth.  That has to be special!

I have had a great birthday so far.  Doing what I want.  Started off trying to sleep in.  Got a text at 5:30 a.m. from my brother Doug (who is on Virginia time). I fell back to sleep and my son Kevon woke me up an hour later. lol!  Talked for about 30  minutes and then I was up for the day. I was getting texts from grandkids; Patrick, Joshua, Jordan, Maddie and Parker.  Showered and went and met Karla and Tara in Silverdale. That's when Dylan text and a bit later Lauren did! I have been so blessed! So many facebook messages, a few calls .... it has made my day!   Papa got me this plant (my favorite... carnations) and made me breakfast!

I met Karla and Tara at Panera's for lunch.  I had some awesome clam chowder and a different but good kind of clam chowder. It was really good! I got some beautiful yellow (favorite color) flowers from Tara!  And Karla told me my present from her and Kevon is 2 tickets to see Paul McCartney!!!! I have always loved him!!! And I am sooo excited!!!! It was a fun  lunch!!!!

Then I came home and really wanted to take a nap but couldn't. Papa made me steak and baked potato for dinner.  Tomorrow Kevon is taking me to breakfast. And what I am really craving right now for my birthday is this....

I am just so glad I cannot get my hands on it! lol!  I am going to have to 1/2 starve myself next week!
I got some wonderful phone calls. Heather called! Got to talk to all my kids and then Ryan's family (Amanda, Andrew, Lauren, and 3 visiting family members) called and sang  a hearty Happy Birthday to me....and then they sang like they do in Azteca's. I told them I was glad I was wearing my sombrero! lol!  Been sitting here by myself. Papa went to Jordy's game. I am so tired. Ready to go to bed and it is only 8:30.

Well.... it was an amazing day today.

Thank you Lord for the most amazing day filled with the most wonderful people! Thank you for blessing me beyond what I deserve. Amen

blog, business, ballgames, biopsy, and that is it

I have been enjoying recipe sites.  I love new recipe's and sharing them.  I even have my own site I hope you have all checked out by now. It is connected to this page but here it is too:

So far today we got Lauren to school and then went and got our blood drawn. Papa had to fast. No fun for him but he keeps himself busy instead of thinking about it. lol! Then we came home and got busy. Papa picking up rocks and mow and walk with Toby (it was raining this morning and sunny when we got home!). It gave me a chance to clean out my end table, clean my house, ride my exercise bike, take the cat out for a while, and I still have some things left to do. My piano lesson is one. I am enjoying them although it is a bit harder than I thought it would be!  Then nap or relax the rest of the night.  No games to watch tonight.

Last night was Maddie's first game.  It was awesome!  Well, Maddie was awesome! Her first time up to bat she walked. Which was cool because Dylan was so proud of her. It is not a pitching machine....it is girls pitching and they are throwing the ball everywhere.... but Maddie didn't fall for it. She swung at the first one but wised up after that!  Dylan thought she would swing at them all like some of the girls were doing, but she didn't!  She watched the ball. She got on base and stole 2nd, then stole 3rd, and was batted home. She had a big smile when she crossed home plate! I was so cool!  I didn't want to take pictures the first game.  But I will at some games later. It was soooooo cold there! I need to stop wearing my flip flops. lol!  Not quite warm enough!

We went to Alyssa's game too. Went to part of it. She is a good ball player. Got to sit with my sister, Lois and my brother David. Nice seeing them..... since mom died we haven't gotten together at all. Except her memorial. Not right. If my brother, Douglas, comes this summer I am planning a family get together for sure!

Good news is Lauren F.'s results came back on her lymph glands and no cancer there!  awesome. Keep praying for her....we love her!
I hope you all have a great evening.  I know I will.

Hodge podge of thoughts

Papa recorded Ax Men and is watching it now. Dumbest show. Well, maybe not the dumbest but it is up in the top 20.
I've been watching Duck Dynasty. Everyone seemed to be watching it so I thought I would check it out.  But it is one of the fakest reality shows I have really watched.  Like Ms. Kay going bowling and talking to the teens like that? Doesn't seem like I would embarrass my grandkids THAT much. Maybe around each other but not their friends. Sy is just being dumb....though when he ate the berry in the poop it was funny. If it was true. I like the patriarch of the family... Phil!

Our reunion is next year. It will be my 40th. So hard to believe I am that old. But after watching General Hospital's 50th anniversary I can believe it. Some of those people look SO OLD! Some looked great....but Bobby Spencer had something done to her face. Rick Springfield and Jack Wagner looked old.  Anyway.... I guess we'll be planning it soon.  It takes about a year to plan a good one.  Lanny doesn't care about his.... this is his thoughts:

I thought it was sad about Annette. But if I remember correctly, she has been sick with Multiple Sclerosis

This video shows her and talks about how she has dealt with MS. Warning, it is a hard one to watch. Filmed 6 months ago.

Well.... this is what I wish our forecast was for this week.  Sadly it is not. I thought I would post it anyway. My cousin Kathy is seeing snow in Rapid City!

I had a pretty good day. I practiced piano for 30 minutes. I rode my exercise bike!  I cleaned house and moved the puzzle into the toyroom. In the den the cat has taken it apart.  Stopped that.  Played with the cat for awhile this morning. While I rode the exercise bike I let him play out back. I made a real nummy roast and carrots tonight too.  Had a good day and the new Joyce has emerged!
Posting a few pics of playing with Kitkat! Have a great day! Our first game is tomorrow. Maddie is playing!!!  Have a great night!

The puzzle....it looked worse after he slid across it. Then I moved it!
