only Tuesday?

It is only Tuesday and I am writing. Quite a shock, I know.  I have a bit of time this morning. Yesterday was not a great day for anything. Don't you hate waking up late and being rushed the rest of the morning?  I woke up and had no time for a shower. So I put my hair in a pony tail and headed out the door. Ugh. Then I forgot my coffee.  I forgot some of my makeup. I forgot something from school. Just not the best start out the door. The wind and rain and darkness made it hard to see... not to mention streaky windshield wipers. I hit my leg on a dog gate and thought I would cry.
After that things got better. Talked with Lois who is coming over Saturday to help me clean out all mom's stuff I haven't gone through yet. That will be so nice to get done. Been postponing it now for 6 months. Time to get it cleaned out of the corner of my den.
I also got some "Site Supervisor" work done yesterday morning....more cereal taken to Fishline (a place we donate to for less fortunate people)....and I got a "welcome" letter done for a "welcome packet" I need to make up today.  We have more kids coming to my class starting in April... all boys! That will give me 21 kids! Crazy. However, I found out yesterday one of my girls is going away for a while with her mama so it will take me down to 20.  We are interviewing someone today. Need more help. But then.... yesterday we only had 8 kids in my class. Weird, huh? Today we will have a few more. Some kids come only a few days a week. No one calls when they are not coming. I just never know. They give us a monthly list....but things change.

Then.... I got off at 5:20!!!!  All the kids were gone!!! So I cleaned up and left too! Got home to my WONDERFUL husband who know my day was yuck.... so he had cleaned the living room and den and also made Breaded Pork Chops for dinner! My favorite!  He is so awesome! I love that man!

Got some good news and bad news.  Lauren's dog, Sandy, has a lump on her chest.  They got the blood results back and it is NOT cancer!!!!  So happy to hear that.... we love that dog so much. She comes over and spends time with her best friend, Toby, quite often!!
Bad news is their other dog...Mac... has diarrhea and vomiting of blood all night... so he needs to go to the doctor this morning. Poor baby Mac attack!  He is a cutie. Pray for him.

This weekend there is a benefit to help with the finances of the little girl who was shot at school a few weeks ago. They have a link on facebook. My son, Kevon and his band are playing! His site:

Another week has past.....

Wow.... time goes fast! We are almost in the middle of March already!  I get on my computer in the morning.... rarely in the evening. I give all I have during the day at school.... so when I get off work I drive home and unwind, have dinner and vegetate on television until I fall asleep in my chair. That is my daily schedule. I am going to be 56 this month....kind of old to be dealing with preschoolers all day, trying to teach them, guide them, love them, break up fights, etc....  I guess that is why I am pooped after work. I don't know what is more tiring....the physical or mental aspect. You have to stay on your toes at all times! I have 17 students right now....fortunately they don't always come on the same day. However, Veronica and I took 15 to the park the other day!  We rode the bus... don't think I could walk that far with that many kids!  It was so fun!
Veronica with the kids!
Merry Go Round
Lunch time!
We call them the Frenemies

The Pirate Ship
The sweetest boy in our class!
The kids had so much fun and talked about it the rest of the week!
We also brought Toby in one day... he loved it!
He got brushed

And treats
And love!
It was friendship week.  We talked about being friends, having friends, kinds of friends, etc...

Speaking of friends.... Thursday we lost another good friend.  Mary Lane passed away. It was expected but still sad.  She is with the Lord and in no more pain! The blessings she will receive for being His Servant must be incredible!!! I loved her so much.... and will miss her. She is the last Senior Mentor I had.  I guess I am on my own now. She joins mom, Mary, Ernestine and Virginia.

Lauren spent the weekend. Maddie did with her on Friday!  Of course, I was in bed early. They were tired and didn't stay up too late.  Yesterday we did some running around. Picked up Dylan, too. We went to the school and traded out the Sensory Bin. I had pink & red fish gravel and jewels in it... now I have wire and pasta and buttons. :D    We went to the library and Dylan is so awesome at finding the books I needed. We went to McDonalds and pigged out and then to Goodwill where I bought some books for the school. Next stop was Costco. First time I ever got out of there for $50!  And the kids got to eat samples! lol!  Went to the Learning tree and bought nothing! That really was a shock. Got groceries at Walmart and then took Dylan and Maddie home. Lots of stops! It was nice spending time with Dylan. I miss him.
See... he really does exist!
Cleaned my office / closet.  Feeling better about it.
This was Monday morning when I went to work. Crazy!
Finally.... all the kids got up after rest time and this one wasn't ready.... and we don't like to wake up the sweet little bear before his time or else!!!!
This week is St. Patricks week at our school! We'll be talking rainbows, shamrocks, leprechauns, the blarney stone..... we'll have a St. Patrick's Day party on Friday.  Hope you all have a great week!

Birthdays and birthday and pictures galore!

What a crazy, fun and stressful week!!!
Pictures will explain it more than words!
Ms. Terry started the week reading The Foot Book to the kids! She is in charge of M & M kids.... the before and after school program we do at all the schools. We decided not to paint with our feet...I was going to do it outside but it was cold and snowy. Not good.
The next day Ms. Joanna came in and read The Cat in the Hat. Her and her kids actually went to Dr. Seuss' home in California....Theodore whatever his name is. I was impressed...the kids not so much. Joanna is in charge of ALL the children's schools and programs. Head honcho. My boss.
Wednesday Ms. Marcey read The Book of Up. It was appropriate with her last day being Friday. :(  Her job was eliminated after working for them 15 years. She is the one who hired me, believed in me, encouraged me and loved me through this past year.  Not sure how I will continue this year without her.
Thursday Ms. Tammi (in charge of the center up the hill with babies and toddlers) read to the kids. She read Green Eggs and Ham!
And Friday the CEO of Martha & Mary (which not only includes us but the Nursing Home, Home Health Care, and Therapy) Chad read to the kid The Lorax. That is one story I had never heard. He did an awesome job!
That was our Dr. Seuss on the Loose week!  I do want to show you our projects!
First... this was our last week of having our balloon hearts posted. We have a new one for March!
The kids made Thing 1 and Thing 2's with their hands and then made kites for them to fly! Ms. Veronica did the hands.... she is awesome at arts & crafts!
Here is another one they did with their hands.... 1 Fish 2 Fish Red Fish Blue Fish!
Kind of a filler.... they did Socks while the hands dried!
All up and down the hall this week we had Cat in the Hat's... all the kids made them in their classes from Kindergarten, PreK, and ours! It was awesome and they did great jobs!
That is about it for our school! Marcey snuck out Friday to skip the goodbyes. Don't blame her.

Now about home life......it was wonderful! Tuesday was Andrew's 16th birthday!!!!
He is a driver now! Well...he has his permit! Here he is driving his family yesterday on the freeway. He's smiling!  Love it!
The night before Andrew's parents and one of his friends snuck to the school and painted "The Rock"
This is what greeted us when I took him to school! He loved it!
We went to their home for dinner that night.... nummy pulled pork sandwiches and home-made fries!  We also had frozen ice-cream cake.  Andrew got a new i-pod that hold more music than he could ever imagine in his lifetime. lol!
Today is Andrew's party at the skating rink.  That will be fun!

Lauren's birthday was Friday!  Her and I went to WalMart before school to pick out her present. Then I took her and her cupcakes her mom had gotten to school.  Then at lunch I took 2 hours off and went to McDonald's and got lunch for her and the table.
Lauren was loving her Shamrock Shake!
Lauren and some of her friends!
That night we picked up Maddie and Dylan and had dinner with Lauren's family at Campana's. They put us in a back room where we froze to death and got the worst service I have ever seen. Amanda's meatballs were not only cooked the meat was spoiled. The company was great,  Fettuccine Alfredo was good and the bread sticks were awesome!  We will never eat there again though.
A rare moment when Andrew and Dylan are together. They are growing up!
After dinner the girls came to my house and spent the night.  Had to leave early the next morning for Lauren's Birthday party at the Roller Skating rink!
Lauren and Riley
Cousins sitting together in a booth!
Jared and his daddy!
Andrew and his weird Aunty Heather who he adores!
Lauren loved her presents!!!!!!!
Heather and her baby Parker!
Auntie Tara skating with Jared
all the kids at Lauren's party!
Amanda's picture taken with her i-phone came out much better than mine!
So.... today is going to see Heather and boys, church, and Andrew's birthday at skateland. Another busy day!  Have a great week!  It is "Friendship Week" at school!  Going on a Teddy Bear Picnic and Toby is coming to visit!  Fun!
