papa, his mama, and work.....

Not much to report....doesn't seem like Monday to me. Papa is taking the day off. They have no work to do and he got a "day off" award. He is reluctent to take any time off any more....but I'm glad he'll have a FULL day off....doesn't work either job today. The kids are glad cuz they got to stay again! Andrew is grinding his teeth in the next room. yuk. Made chicken strips, rice, beans and (sour cream & chive scallop potatoes for andrew) for dinner. Didn't do much yesterday. Cleaned the front deck, papa and lauren cleaned the driveway and the kids played with the hose, we cleaned the house and that was about it. We talked to ma for quite a while. She is sounding so weak and tired. Sometimes she'll tell us how it really is going and then other times she tries to make it sound like things are fine. She is in bed almost all the time now. After our talk she was going out to the porch with Rita for a bit. Of course, I cried when I hung up. When she tells me she loves me I wonder if it's the last time I will talk to her. Papa says he thinks the same thing when he talks to her. It is so difficult. I love her so much!!!! I work this afternoon. I work every day this week. Good deal! I won't complain! Wetter weather arrives Tuesday night into Wednesday before gradual drying the rest of the week and more sun this weekend.

what an awesome God.....

The LORD is God. We must not take for granted his holiness and might. But the incredible reality of God's grace is this: God, who thundered at Mount Sinai and spoke into existence the universe with its marvelous expanse, loves us and longs for us to draw near and find refuge in him. We can rejoice in reverent awe. We can praise with holy fear. We can rest secured because our trust is not in what is human, what is temporary, and what is vulnerable. The LORD is our God!

Forgive me, Father, for the times that I have cheapened your grace with
inappropriate speech and irresponsible behavior. You are God alone. You alone are worthy of praise. Thank you not only for being holy and mighty, but also for being near and providing me a place of refuge and protection. Thank you, dear Father, for being God! In Jesus' name. Amen

Punkin, Tana, and lumpia.....

Our cat has been sleeping outside most nights lately. Probably because of the heat...I don't know. I used to worry about a coyote or something getting her....but it is one of those things we can't control. I can stand on the decks and call her until I am purple at night and she is only going to come if she wants. Little Montana (Tana) has been cancer free for a year! God is so amazing. He is the only reason she is healed! We were invited to a celebration Trina is having at her parents in a couple weeks to celebrate! Should be a great party and I'm looking forward to it! Andrew and Lauren are here. Ryan and Amanda helped Adam and Erin move after his game. Last night we were all wiped out from the night before. Lauren finally turned the blanket on and climbed in my bed (ya...I know! she was cold!) Papa carried her to her bed after she fell asleep....then he went to bed. Andrew and I tried staying away to watch Michael Phelps win his 8th gold medal. I kept falling asleep. He finally said "Let's record it and go to bed." Sounded great to me....but I checked my emails before shutting down the computer and of course it gave the outcome of the race before it was even on!!!! We couldn't believe it! I was a bit ticked....Andrew just shook his head and went to bed.....after he knocked my water out of my hand while going to give me a hug and then getting a serious case of the giggles. He cracks me up! Work was so long yesterday. Very quiet. Got my work done and got time to work out, too. I enjoy it now! And my pace is picking up, too! Papa got my meds so I should be feeling better soon with more energy. There was lumpia in the freezer from months ago. We had it for dinner last night. Lauren and Andrew love it.....but I think Papa ate the most. It was so good. Lumpia rocks. Got some cute pictures of Noah and Matthew (our great nephews in Oklahoma) from Grandma Wave. Becky got mad at me months ago and is still not talking to me I guess. Oh well. Can't control how other people act. Lanny talks to his mom every day. He said he could hardly hear her yesterday. I don't comment much on this site about Lanny's family in Oklahoma because they're very private people and don't want others to know their business. And I can't post any pictures. Email me if you want to know how things are going. And just keep praying for them. God knows what's going on. Well, a lazy day today. Would love to go to church if the kids wake up.
