Ryan is 36 today. wow!

Our son is getting old. The sad part is that we are getting older too. Amazing how that works. lol!

For those that are confused by our family...Ryan is married to Amanda, Andrew and Lauren's dad.  We are so blessed to have them in our lives and it is all because of Ryan!  He has a family who loves him. An amazing family. He loves his wife and his children with his whole heart.  And he loves the Lord.  We are so proud of all he has accomplished in his life.  Love him so much!!! Here are some pictures that I hope shows his personality so you can see who this amazing person is!

My weekend

I don't get why people like leather? I don't like how it sticks to the skin.  I do like how it stays clean. Our recliners are leather and they are super comfortable but I don't like sticking.   I don't get the hardwood floors thing either. Sure they are easier to keep clean. But they aren't soft or warm to walk on. Mom once told me she remembered when people couldn't wait to get carpeting to cover the cold wood or linoleum. lol!  And I don't get cats who think they can do whatever they want whenever they want....like keep you awake!  I am shutting the door tonight. I don't care what Lanny says or I am taking the spare room and making it mine. The dog wanted out, the cat wanted to play, the cat climbed on me crying to be pet several times last night. I am over it.

There! Had my vent session and I am ready to get on with the day.  Even papa warned the animals to stay away from me when I got up! haha!  He is napping in the chair now. His leather chair.

Had a pretty good weekend. We went to Lauren's game but Lanny forgot our chairs. Luckily Amanda wasn't using hers so I had a place to sit. My back would have never lasted the whole game.  Lauren got to play goalie the second half and I think she did awesome!!!!  She stopped about 5 goals. Two got past her but one went over her head and she could do nothing about it.  Ryan and Amanda coached the team and they played like a new team the second half. Did great!

After the game we came home and had some of the leftover clam chowder I made from the night before. It was so good!!! My recipe is on my recipe site to the left. Or http://langagerfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com/   Turned out so good and doesn't take long at all.  So good on a cold day!  If you try it let me know what you think!

I took a brief nap and then went to Ronnie Todd's 60th birthday party. I have been friends with the whole Todd family for over 40 years. Loved them all!  LeRoy was the dad and was one of the best mechanics anywhere. And one of the nicest guys you would meet. So mellow.  He died in 1995. Merideth passed away in 2010. She was mom to everyone!  Loved her so much! They had 7 kids; daughters Terry and Cathy and sons Ronnie, Tommy(my age), Larry, Jeff, and Kenny! They were all at the party so I got to talk to them all. Seems like the only time we gather is funeral's. :(  So this was a happy occasion.  It was good to see my sister Libby, there too! I miss my family.  Larry and I were talking and he said something that really hit me.  I was telling him how I never saw my family anymore and he said he and Karen keep the family together by having birthday parties and gatherings. That is cool. But they all live within 10 miles of each other and Larry has a huge house to have these gathering. His house is amazing.
Over 3,000 sq feet with a beautiful view.

Sunday we did nothing but watch the Seahawks lose.  4-1 now. The one loss doesn't define us as a team.  Seahwks have an awesome team this year.

We have nothing on the calendar for today. Really hoping the car will be ready. It has been in the shop for 14 days!  That is ridiculous. Last week I called a few times but they never called us. I don't have patience for this.  I will keep busy rearranging things.  lol!  Looks like rain all week so it will be an indoor kind of week.  I hope you have a wonderful week!

Dylan's bday, Pain, bomb squad, and Dad

It is Friday which means today is better than yesterday. Yup.  Yesterday was just a weird day.  I'll explain later. If I don't start from Monday I will get lost. lol

So I am blasting past to Tuesday.  Rough and painful. I had an 8:30 appointment with the physical therapist. I can see why they are called physical terrorist.  She was so sweet and nice BUT she had to run all these tests on my shoulder until she got pain. Over and over and over.  Out front. To the side. Back.  THEN we did some therapy and stretches etc. She said ice it when you get home and do the therapy 3 times a day. whatever.  I was so sore when I got home. I iced it but I didn't do anymore that day. It stinks to pay someone to cause you pain!
So, of course, I did not a thing the rest of the day.

Wednesday afternoon we met Andrew and Dylan at That's a Some Italian and had pizza dinner.  It was ok.  Not a fan of the crust but Dylan loves it so that is what counts, right? Don't see Dylan much so we thought we'd take him out to dinner and he wanted Andrew to come. Gave him some money for his birthday.  It was a nice time.

Thursday was the weird day. I went over to curl Lauren's hair for picture day. On the way I passed a stater (state patrol cop) crossing the bridge going towards my side. And then when I got to the light after the bridge a big Bomb Squad truck turned on to the bridge. I have never seen one in my life...until then. This is what it looked like.

So I drive about a quarter of a mile and there is another stater sitting on the side of the road at the Salisbury Park turn off.  I drove Lauren to school and on the way home there was a stater at the light at the bridge and 3 on the bridge. I figured a submarine was coming but, still, it was overkill. (Or maybe not. Papa said there is always 4).  I don't remember nothing. lol. Anyway, it seemed weird. I guess this whole government shutdown is really bothering me...so is obama care stuff and how messed up it is. Fortunately we can keep our insurance so far. But our son, Ryan, isn't working. He works for the Naval shipyard. Not good. :(
But Lauren looked beautiful!

She didn't duck face fast enough when I took the picture! Haha! Partial duck!

I helped Papa put up the tent to air it out before putting it away for the season. I also had him dig up some grass for Kitkat. He can't go outside anymore and loved grass to eat, so I thought he'd like it. He loved it!!!! It is really good for his tummy too.  Papa planted some about a week ago but it is taking too long for it to grow so he just dug some up instead. lol! Works great!

Tomorrow will mark the anniversary that Dad went with Jesus to Heaven.  Nine years.  I miss him more now that mom is with him.  When she was here it seemed like we had a piece of dad here.  We talked about him a lot, too.  I miss his laugh and smile, his strong hands and his sense of humor. What a great man he was. He had his faults like all of us, but he was a strong man and kept his humor through it all. When he lost his first leg he joked about having more socks. When he lost his second leg he still kept his sense of humor but I think some of the spark died. He was confined to the wheel chair and couldn't drive anymore. Mom had to do so much for him. That was difficult for him. Now he is whole, happy and with the Lord and mom. Love you always Daddy!

Busy weekend coming up! Soccer game, birthday party, and Seahawks!  Hope you have a fun weekend!!!!
