Have you ever tried to get the perfect picture of 22 people?  I have.... even if someone is not smiling or looking at the camera.... when my family is in it .... it is already the perfect picture.   It has been 18 months since we were all together and I really wanted the picture taken and told them in advance.  And who knows when we will all be together again?

Papa's retirement party went perfect!  Lauren and I took off and got strawberries at my school, ran to Albertson's in Kingston for some fruit and stuff and to pick up our 100 pieces of chicken!  Then we went and got gas on the reservation and some fireworks!  On our way home we got stopped by bridge traffic.  It was terrible.  Everyone was stopped in it.... all our friends and family!  I guess it showed who really loves Lanny ... the ones that waited almost an hour to get here!  But we all got here and had a great time!  We had chicken, Costco Dogs, salads, watermelon, Lauren made an awesome fruit salad that was eaten. She was SO proud of herself....she wouldn't let me stir it or do anything. It was really good!  She put in blueberries, strawberries, pineapple chunks, cool whip, coconut, maraschino cherries, and added red, white, and blue star marshmallows!  Everyone enjoyed all the food! Tara brought pop and we added water, coffee, and iced tea for the company. I wish I had gotten more pictures but I was so busy! I got to sit down a few times but my legs and feet still hurt. I only got to really sit and talk to Jake and Patty, Lois, Rhonda and Sam and that was about it.  I felt kind of bad but I also know that is how party's go.  There were 49 people.  A few we really missed.... or at least I did.  Papa didn't care so much... he just enjoyed who was there.

Thanks to every one who came to celebrate with Lanny!  It meant a lot to him!  We also sang happy birthday to Karla! He didn't want it to pass without us singing happy birthday to her.

We had the sleepover that night with all the grand kids .... I know I am crazy! But it was a blast!!!! I have to finish cropping the pictures and I will post later.  Have a great 4th!  Thanks to the guys who are the reason we celebrate today......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARLA!!!!

I know today is my husband's retirement party.... but more important than that is my beautiful daughters 36th birthday!!!! Happy birthday Karla!  She gave part of this day up so we could have a party for Lanny.  That was so nice!  I love my Karla more than my own life!  I would do anything for her!!!!  Karla is unique... always has been and always will be.  It is one of the many, bizillion reasons I adore her! This post is dedicated to her....here are some of my favorite pictures of my girl.....
Her due date was June 10... she came July 2nd and was only 6 lbs 15 oz. I think someone miscalculated! lol!  She was so small and precious!

Camping

Birthday...

Poulsboville slugger!

Time out for grilled cheese sammich!

Always loved this one... she was 5 years old!

This is typical Karla not wanting her picture taken. lol!

Christmas party at Grandma's.

Another one of Christmas at Grandma's when she was 1 1/2!

Her room!

Her and Grandpa Langager... every one of the grandkids played with this ashtray! It came out of the hole on the right there.  You pushed the button and it spun the butts inside the bowl. She has it all taken apart here. lol!

Seriously, how cute is Karla and those little fingers? She was practically blond here!

High school!

Easter

Loving oatmeal!

Prom night

Karla talked us into letting her get a dog...even though we had one. She wanted her very own puppy to love. Yes, Karla!!!! So I drove her all the way to Port Orchard to get this dog! She named it Nicodemus.... but we called him Nicky. She loved him for a while til the fun wore off.

Karla after eating watermelon...wearing Uncle David's cap and mitt.

She has her own mitt now.

One of my favorite pictures of all time!

One of her Senior Pictures she didn't want taken.

I love you Karla.... from the day God created you.... until forever!!!!
Happy birthday, charlie!

Last day before Retirement Party...oh no!

Wow... I am so busy I don't know if I am coming or going.  Plus I have a house to clean! Papa did the bathrooms yesterday! That helps tons! The den is done and toy room. Just have dining room table (where things just magically land), my computer desk and living room, and my bedroom. All by tomorrow at 2.  I am going to try to leave early today and get started.  We don't have that many kids so Hailley can close. Juanita and Teresa are both leaving early. I think it will be pretty quiet this afternoon. I am hoping to leave by 3.  Let's see where hoping gets me. lol!  Today we are marching in the "Parade of Colors" at the nursing home.... all three floors with our school and the one up the hill. It should be fun! Bernie is walking with us some of the time.

Yesterday was fun.... the fire person came early. I thought we had finally agreed on 2... but she came at 10!  Yikes! The kids finished their snack as she set up her "doll" house and she taught them fire safety!  It was a great talk! I learned a lot too!  The reason why you should keep your bedroom door shut at night while you are sleeping is because smoke kills.... it can enter your room and it makes you sleep and you may not wake up.  Also, if your door is shut and you hear the alarm... you crawl to the door and touch it... if it is hot, put clothes at it's crack in the bottom, go to the window and get out or yell and wave a bright colored clothe. Always crawling. So important! Air feeds fire and you don't want to feed it by opening your door!  And ALWAYS have a fire plan with your kids!!! We did... we had a place to meet if there was a fire too... every where we lived. I am talking with the grand kids this weekend about here.

Well, papa had a good day yesterday doing whatever he wanted. He went to Walmart yesterday to shop, went to Costco the day before.  Good thing I got paid!!!  Oh.... I got some awesome news!!! Before Joanna left yesterday she stopped in my office and said she was increasing my pay!!!! I got a raise!!!  She said I do everything she asks of me and have great relationships with the parents. That was it. I said Thank you... she said Your Welcome.  She isn't one to give a lot of praise so I was quite happy!!!  Plus more money.  Lanny and Mom are so proud of me!  I think I am making a difference. And my self esteem is improving.  God is good! The way He works in every ones life is awesome. I am so thankful!

Boy, our owl sure has been noisy lately.  Sometimes I go out in the morning and he is hooting up a storm.  Not panic hoot.... just louder and more than usual.

Best finish getting ready for work.  I need to get there early. I will leave you with these:
