school, bears, food and kevon

Over half the grand kids started school this week... and love it so far!!! They all seem very happy. I think the moms are even happier!!!! Not even a hint of sadness. We have 6 in school.... 4 more start next Wednesday! All of them are in school.... I am sad. They are growing up too fast.

Patrick was right! We do live in a jungle! Since moving here we had a fox family in the area, we hear coyotes, lots of raccoons and squirrels, there is an owl living nearby and lots of eagles, deer have been everywhere.... in fact the other day Dylan and I were driving and saw 2 mama's with 3 babies! Then yesterday was the coolest. Driving to Hadlock... a black bear ran across the road about 20 feet ahead of me. Close enough I had to put on brakes. How often does that happen? I was so jazzed. Papa asked me how big was it? How do I answer that? How big is a black bear???? It was bigger than Toby but not bigger than the van. ;D I was so pumped to see that! Thanks God! Getting back to Patrick... when we first moved here he wanted to know why we moved out into the jungle. lol.

Finally went and got groceries. Feels good to have some food in the house again. My frig and cupboards were bare! PatheticI loved this picture of this dog putting up with this cat. Reminded me of home.

Last night I had a wonderful surprise! My baby boy found his way back home again into his mama's arms!
Not forever.... but for over 3 hours! And so it wasn't just to visit.... he actually needed my help. But as busy as he is.... I will take it. I just wanted to be a bit dramatic. I think I succeeded.
It's just nice to see him. It's nice when any of my kids come over!!! You'd think I lived in Nebraska as often as they stop by! Kevon and Ryan live 9 miles away... Karla lives 15, Tara abut 22.... ok, Heather is a couple hundred so she has a good excuse! I helped Kevon on the computer trying to get a higher level of security clearance. We printed out over 40 pages when we were all done! We were on the phone getting addresses and info from people Kevon knows. They want to know everyone and everything! I hope it all works out. I did learn some things.... I know so much about my son I could have filled most of it out on my own! I think he was impressed. maybe. Plus when marking all the questions... I got really proud of him. He has excellent history on his credit, no illegal activities, he is just a great guy. I trust him... so should they! ;D I am proud of him. I wish everyone could see what a wonderful man he has turned out to be.

Maddie comes over this morning! She is spending the night and I am taking her to her "Meet the Teacher" night. Karla and Joel wanted to go SO BAD but Dylan has orientation the same time at the Junior High. That is really important and they need to bring their checkbook to that one. So hard to believe he is going into 6th grade at the "Middle School"... not called Junior High anymore (I keep being corrected)!!!! Maddie's will be a piece of cake.... just lets her know where her class is, who her teacher is, and see her friends. It is basically a social visit. Perfect for Maddie. She is super social.

Switched back my sleeping patterns. I am making myself get up between 4:30 and 5 a.m. and I go to bed exhausted between 9 and 10. That is p.m..... not a.m. smarties! I am sleeping better this way and having no problem going to bed!

Today is Christopher's birthday! Sixteen! Watch out on the road! lol! So hard to believe. I remember when this little red head was born! Here he is with his grandma and grandpa at Ryan's 16th birthday party!!!!
Welllllll... hope you all have a wonderful day! Maddie and I are cleaning. Get her in the right mood and she is great help! Get her AND Lauren here and they compete who is the better helper!

Please pray that the Lord directs us to that lost cell phone. It is driving me crazy!!!!!

Have an amazingly great day!!!!

dogs can be so emotional ....

I am hoping Toby isn't sick. Maybe he is just missing Sandy and the kids. Sometimes I think we should get another dog because dogs do like packs.... but Papa always says no. I would love to have Sandy.... but she would miss her people soooo much. She loves her family! Obsessed with her family! Anyway, Toby hasn't hardly eaten anything in 2 days. Bet if I made him bacon with cheese on it he would wolf it down! Papa went down next to the bed this morning to hug and kiss and talk.... Toby got up and went to the other side of the bed. hmmmm....

Not much happening. Going to get some food and tabs for my van today. That is about it. Still searching my house for a lost cell phone that has a dead battery. Makes the search that much harder!!! I've looked under, behind and in everything! Frustrating.

Ok, Heather.... 3 weeks? Are you kidding me? FYI... I am removing some of the blogs off my listing that never uses theres anymore. No offense.... just figure you don't us it anymore, right?

Well, sorry that is all I got. Hope you have a great day today. I loved this picture....

Weather To Expect:
We'll stay dry through most of the day with some sun breaking out this afternoon. High temperatures will be running in the mid to low 70s.
Enjoy the sun while it's here, showers will be moving in tonight and will be sticking around all the way through the upcoming Labor Day Weekend.
Rain tonight through Thursday morning. We'll see a break in the action Thursday evening and through the day on Friday. Temperatures will be holding in the low 70s and upper 60s.
Showers increasing on Friday evening ahead of another very wet storm moving through this weekend. Right now it looks like the heaviest rain will be on Saturday. This system is also a cold one.
Showers will continue through Sunday with a few showers lingering into Labor Day on Monday. Temperatures will be holding in the mid 60s through the weekend.

Sandy, games, laughter and moping...

First day of September .... Amanda, Andrew and Lauren picked up Sandy girl 3 years ago today and all their lives changed.... especially Sandy's. We suspect she didn't have a very good home before coming to the pound. Here is the photo of Sandy in the pound looking sad and wanting Andrew to take her home.

The second picture is of the 3 of them that night at home. See how happy she is???? And still looking at Andrew! It is like she was saying "Please?" in the first picture and "Thank You!" in the second. It was a God day.... the day they got the perfect dog for their family and she got the perfect people for her. Great fit. And Ryan and Amanda love this dog sooo much, too! She's a good girl!

Fall is really in the air! Very foggy outside... a bit chilly... and getting darker earlier.... and my grandsons started school! We called them yesterday before school to see if they were excited and to tell them to have fun their first day! Heather sent some really cute pictures!!!! I am SURE she will post them on her blog soon!

Andrew made nummy waffles for breakfast. Parents all picked kids up throughout the day. Dylan and Maddie took their berries home first. Maddie looked SO tired when she left. Hope she was good for her mom. Then we played some UNO and Farkle.... Tara came and took Jo to the doctor for her rash. They think it is allergies too. Then Lauren and I played 3 games of Sorry. She won, I won, and then we went for the championship. She won. She always wins.... seriously! Ask her mom! We watched Big Brother and Andrew and I were crying we were laughing soooo hard at Nataly and her fear of dragonflies. SO FUNNY! We kept rewinding it and watching it again! After the kids all left I did dishes and made the rest of the dinner to go with my nummy crockpot roast. It is the best recipe..... In the morning you put a roast in your crockpot, add cream of chicken soup, Lipton onion soup dry mix, Worcestershire sauce, and whatever else floats your boat and cook it all day! Your house smells so good at dinner and the roast is so tender. I just put mine in frozen. Makes its own good gravy too.

I was called for a phone interview at a chiropractic/wellness center last night. I think it went well but I always think that! I was just myself and gave honest answers. God will open the door or He won't . We shall see.

After everyone was gone.... Toby moped. It took him awhile to eat his dinner. Even the cat wasn't herself. She went to bed with me and slept all night there until I got up!!! That is unheard of with her! Everyone is missing kids.

That's about all I got this morning. Hope you all have a great day today and may God bless you and protect you all! I am spending the day getting my house back in order and getting papa's resume together. That's about it for me!

Weather To Expect:
Low clouds and areas of patchy fog this Tuesday morning. We'll turn to mostly sunny skies with high temperatures in the mid to low 70s.
We'll see some more sun with mid 70s during the day on Wednesday before showers arrive during the evening.
Showers will be around Thursday morning with some afternoon sunbreaks. Highs will be in the low 70s.
Rain increases Friday afternoon and evening with high temperatures falling into the upper 60s. Saturday and Sunday will stay in the 60s with showers sticking around through the weekend.
