NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER!
Maddie at school
Maddie with a very dropped and bruised apple.
Jo at her game
Riley cuddling with her Auntie Meghan
Riley climbing all over her Uncle Kev
Kevon and his mama
Jordan threw the ball from right field to the second baseman and got that runner out! You can see the ball beating the runner (over her head). Jo has quite an arm! This is a good day to pray! It is the National Day of Prayer! There are several places holding vigil all over the county....praying for our country and their leaders! Very important stuff. Today on my prayer list is: my niece Becky ....she is the one in Oklahoma (Rita's daughter), and my cousin David DeLay, and our own Pastor Barry. Also keep Heather in your prayers as she goes away on her ladies retreat this weekend....pray she is blessed and equipped and refreshed! Also for Don as he gets the boys! And pray for Jared .... he has double ear infections. Thanks! And please keep praying that Ryan gets that job at the shipyard. Everything is a waiting game. I will hopefully find out Monday if I get the job I am praying about.
Yesterday ended up being totally different than what I thought it would be. I picked up Maddie because Karla had to work all day and took her we hung around Poulsbo until it was time to take her to school. She was so pretty and she took Ms. Allison an apple. When she gave it to her she said "You better wash it.... I dropped it a couple times." Ms. Allison laughed. Make sure you read Karla's blog about Maddie's clowns. Too cute. Andrew was still sick so I took him some lunch and stuff before coming home. Tara called and said the schedule was wrong and Jo's game was in Silverdale instead of Port Orchard..... so I went to that last night.... so did Kevon and Meghan. It was fun... and Jordan's team won! Jordan, Patrick, and Dylan's teams are all undefeated. The strangest thing happened yesterday. Sometimes the Holy Spirit prompts you to go somewhere, call someone, or just stop and pray for someone. Yesterday I felt I needed to go next door (the ambulance had been there the night before) to see if Ed and Betty were ok and if I could do anything for them. I met their 2 daughters (around our age...Mary lives in Seattle and Sally in Cle Elum) and found out Betty had a stroke... but then it cleared up. She was still in the hospital for more testing to find out what happened. Anyway...we were visiting about 20 minutes and I asked where Ed was. They said he died September 2006!!! We only lived here 5 months and he died...they were in a car accident in Seattle and he was in the hospital a month before he died. Wow. I was shocked. All this time I thought they were spending the winters in Hawaii and Betty was in Seattle with her daughter. I'm a bad neighbor. We exchanged phone numbers and I told her we would keep an eye on her. Wow....again.
Now, today I am going to try and clean my house!!! I've been trying all week! Tonight is Bible study and Nancy called and asked me to bring dessert. Tomorrow night I am taking Andrew, Dylan, and Jordan to see Narnia at our church! It will be fun! Andrew and Dylan are spending the night but Tara made plans for Jo to have a friend over Saturday so she won't be staying. I've been looking forward to this for a long time so I am excited it is finally here! I'm going to try and do something special with the girlsmaybe Saturday if I can.
Well...since I slept in until 6 I guess I get to work before the phone rings and I have to run somewhere!
Weather Summary: Some stubborn clouds and a few spot sprinkles start our day, but then expect partly sunny skies this afternoon and mild highs around 60... about where they should be this time of year. Tonight, and tomorrow morning, showers threaten again on the coast, then meander inland for Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. The rest of the weekend looks dry from Saturday afternoon through Sunday and into early next week... though we could see some spot showers Monday evening and Tuesday.

Be a parent who loves God....

We are incapable of loving our children like they were meant to be loved until we first love God! Parenthood at its best demands a thriving partnership with God! We cannot give unconditional love until we have experienced unconditional love! And God is the only source of that kind of love! We can do everything else right as a parent but if we don't begin with loving God - we will fail!
